I Just turned 30 yesterday :(

We know we're getting old when the only thing we want for our birthday is not to be reminded of it--Author Unknown
The secret of staying young is to live honestly, eat slowly, and lie about your age. ~Lucille Ball
I just turned thirty yesterday. I celebrated it a day before ( February 14) with another celebrant with office mates. Despite my reluctance to celebrate it on the day of my birthday close friends surprised me with a party, complete with three kinds of cakes( chocolate moist cake, refrigerator cake and yummy pink cake), pansit, lechon manok, liempo and baked biko. I appreciated their gestures. I was really touched with the presents and the presence of my dear friends.

I just dont know why I felt scared about being 30, it must be something else, or the thought that am near the end of the calendar days, or the idea that im young no more. You dont have to tell me im old, im aware.

Please enjoy Mikey's Ultimate Guide to Coping With Turning 30 Years Old:*Don't look at it quite like a birthday as much as a free pass to cry your little eyes dry for all the failures you've tallied in your life.
*Don't shower for a week, then blame the terrible odor surrounding you on the stink of old age.
*Buy a t-shirt that says "Old Fart." Whenever anyone comments on it, get horribly offended that anyone would dare to refer to you as that old.
*Dye your hair grey and show up for work telling people that this was the way you woke up on the morning you turned 30.
*Send an e-mail to all of your friends telling them that you no longer wish to be addressed by your first name. "From now on you may refer to me as Mr.," so-and so.
*Announce to your family that you're on your last leg and they should go on without you.
*When you end conversations with people, give them a hug and say, "just in case I never see you again, promise me you'll take care of yourself. PROMISE!"
*Wear a helmet to work. Tell people you don't trust your aging and decaying body.

Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. [2 Corinthians 4:16]

LOL, just wait till you hit 40!!

Everyone on TV look like teenagers, you are suddenly out of step with the current music scene, The trendy "hit parade" of your youth is regarded as dinosaur-musak, you start to look like your dad, you start taking more naps in the afternoon, 9pm is way too late to be up and working the remote is a task left to your 6 year old nephew.

Many Happy returns, old fart :)
