Studies show that both cancer patients and survivors have improved health and a better quality of life when it comes to exercise. Exercise is a way to keep focused on a goal rather than focus on one’s illness. It helps the patient achieve a more positive outlook throughout their treatment. Doctors readily agree that a fitness program provides a variety of benefits such as, increased muscular strength and cardiovascular fitness. In addition, the body releases natural chemicals into the bloodstream that help to exert stress and fight pain. Any way you look at it, exercise is a good way to stay in shape and feel better, both mentally and physically.

Many cancer treatments take a toll on the body and leave the patient feeling fatigued and off balance, even well into recovery. In addition, with lethargy and mood swings, it can be hard for one to maintain enough energy, stay focused and be productive throughout their day. Staying healthy does not only concern the physical part of one’s well being but it is mental as well. With having regular exercise, both mind and body benefit from everything that overall positive health and fitness provide.

Staying active with exercise benefits a plethora of people; however, this statement is especially true with the fight against cancer. Exercise helps people undergoing the entire cancer process, from diagnosis and treatment to remission. Keeping the body strong is important and regular exercise provides the strength and energy to undergo treatments for mesothelioma or any other type of cancer. In fact, any increase in physical activity through exercise has a manifold effect on multiple body systems.

Keep in mind that people are more likely to stick with exercise if they do it with friends or family members. Getting fit can involve anything from joining a gym, running, swimming or just taking a walk. Always be sure to get a doctors advice before starting an exercise regimen. Doctors and medical personal will be glad to help you with an exercise program or refer you to a physical therapist or other specialists for additional recommendations.

Remember to select a fitness program that is right for you. Someone with mesothelioma will approach exercise differently than someone with prostate cancer. The good news is that there are countless exercises to suit every particular need or requirement. Getting out and about with some kind of exercise regimen keeps the mind occupied and helps you to stay more goal-oriented. Challenge yourself with exercise on a continual basis and not only will you get stronger, but stay more positive in the process.

Pancit canton for merienda

Got so hungry this afternoon, well I always get hungry every afternoon and really go to the canteen to eat something that I could satisfy my hunger, I though of eating scrambled egg and rice but there was no egg, I looked for bananas and salted fish but there was none, the only option was pancit canton and I have no other choice. Fair enough it was good even if it was somewhat spicy and hot but I love the combination it was enough to satisfy my hunger a glass of water completed it, but I want balut. That could wait later, there's a lot of balut on my way home.

Wow!
It was an experience worth remembering and a learning I think im going to get addicted to. I started eating the pinoy with no balut but when I have tried the balut ( only 16 days old) I realized the balut is much yummy than the pinoy, coz the balut has this somewhat water substance that is good when its hot. The first lesson is to open a small part on the large part of the egg, slowly open it enough where you can place a little bit of salt and hot vinegar, then sip it (its really good) try this procedure and slowly open or expose some parts of the egg, then eat the yellow part, for a newbie like me I started out removing the dark part of the egg, hehehehe, until now I still dont have the courage to eat that part since Im still learning to appreciate that but soon, I'll have the courage to do it.'Eat everything with salt and the hot vinegar coz it goes well together and its good to finish it with ice cold coca-cola to complete the meal.

Happy New Year!
Well, I must admit im a little bit late with my greetings but its still The 17th day of January and its better late than never.

2011 ended tragically, though I was not one of those lost loved ones but still the pain is so strong to ignore. You see it all over our city, the wrath of Sendong, even when I went home to my father's place in Cebu Sendong kept on haunting me, its on the news. But still, we welcomed 2012 with high hopes that this will be another year, another year of dreams and reality that Cagayan de Oro will soon rise from the devastation Sendong brought. We welcome 2012 with prayers that our brothers and sisters who were affected will be able to slowly rise and and be able to recover from their state.

For me, my prayer is that I will be able to help with what I have. I dont have much but im willing to share my life, ears, my lips to those who needs words of encouragement and words that will lift up those who are weary. More then the food, the relief goods they also need our ears to listen and our presence to be just there for them.

Sendong came with a bang, we cried for dead and lost relatives, friends, neighbors but God is with us through all these pains. Though we may end the 2011 with painful memories and face the 2012 with renewed strength and hope in our hearts that all will be well. Hand in hand we can make it through one step at a time. A whole new beginning, new year, new hope and new perspective for 2012. Sendong taught us to be strong, taught us to share, to help others, taught us to use water wisely when the supply was very limited and got satisfied with whats available, taught us to share to those who needs towel, clothes, food, water and our shoulders to cry on and taught us to listen to their stories of survival. Life goes on and we learn each day, it doesnt stop its a lifelong process. This picture above shows a picture of hope, the tent city, where they start a new with families and relatives and neighbors, it may not be as comfortable as their previous houses but its more comfortable than the evacuation areas where, its crowded and not suitable for children.

Another city has risen in Cagayan de oro, and id like to call it hope city.

Its hard to praise the Lord when our hearts are filled with pain and sorrow and so much grief but then the Lord deserves our praise and worship so we still choose to worship Him. Its a way to reach out to Him in praise and worship, we can cry out to the Lord and seek for healing, comfort and assurance that things will be ok in the end. It has been said in His word that we may suffer but these things will come to an end for weeping stays for a night and in the morning comes rejoicing coz our hope is in the Lord and no one can take that away from us. Still we choose to praise God in the storm. We choose to cling to Him.

December 11,2011 Was a day of smile. A day of smile to the Badiongon kids, parents and visitors. The days before December 11,2011 were rainy days from monday to saturday. And from monday to saturday I prayed for sunshine and it was an answered prayer. Praise God!, He gave us a sunny and happy day. I was worried coz there was no bigger and covered place where we can have our party but the backyard of one of the houses there, if the rain poured it would be such a lonely christmas party. Thank God also for those who shared their time and blessings to make the party a success, it was something the children will remember for the rest of their lives. It was just something to those who shared, but to the children it was something that made the birth od our saviour special. A day of smile for the parents and the visitors who also laughed and played with us. And the food was a manifestation of God's faithfulness and goodness.

The last fun run that I had for this year. Its nice, though I was not able to have the training before the run but still I ran for it was for a cause. It was for or handicapped brothers and sisters and Im glad through running I was able to share my blessings and also had picture taking with the handicapped brothers. The first time I saw a race with wheelchairs and there was joy in the faces of the racers. I plan to participate in races or fun runs that will be helpful for our less fortunate bothers and sisters. Let us support them.

Time swiftly passed me by. It was January then but now the year is about to end and its the first day of December. On this 1st day of december Im so excited to go home to Cebu and be with family and friends and excited for that holiday rest. 1st day of december makes me think of the days that I think of no work, no stress and all smiles and Im excited to see my cute nephew Aerhon. 1st day of december reminds me of so many lists to complete, things to plan, people to meet, parties to attend and a lot more. But, the most important person born on this day should not be forgotten, Jesus. Maybe He has been knocking at the door of our hearts long before and this time lets allow Him to enter and be the Lord of our lives. We could be busy with activities and all but Christmas is about the saviour who died at Calvary for our sins. 1st day of december reminds me of the day when I too opened my heart for Jesus and accepted Him as my Lord and saviour. The unfogotten day when tears of joy fell from my eyes and felt God's hands embracing me with so much love and welcome. The day that I felt joy so intense, felt like angels were there also welcoming me.

1st of december brought back the days living of not knowing Him as Lord and saviour, recalled the times just how God prepared me for this meeting Him. It was no accident, all things happened for a purpose and now we are all like lost sheeps, He is willing to leave all the 99 behind just to find the lost one, coz He wants that no one should perish. And now my hearts' desire is to see friends, relatives, officemates one day when the roll is called up yonder, I hope we all will be there.

Its a nice feeling that I now have a new time record for my 5k run, the first 5k run i did it for more than one hour, this year i had 5:48 and now for the unilab run I got 5 minutes earlier the new record is 45:45. Im just as happy as ever. Im thinking of going the higher level to 10k. Wow? Can I do it? That's the question that can be answered by practice, discipline and commitment. I ran last October 16, 2011 for the 35th milo marathon with no proper preparation which caused me to feel body sore all over. And now I ran again for the 5k and still with no preparation and now also caused me pains all over. Wish I could have a regular running regimen to really keep me fit to run.Its about time to really have time for everything under the sun, we could never be too busy, we can always set aside work and must have time for rest.

Yes, Its a yes and again. I say it again I have changed templates.I just dont what came to my mind. I though I was in love with google plus template but now I can say im no longer in love with it.And now imve changed to a new template. I have changed to econto blogger template its nice and loads faster than any template that I have tried.

Why i swicthed to econto blogger template?
1. It loads faster
2. It looks nice and clean
3. its reader freindly
4. it has three columns - i like templates with three columns

5. its perfect with the space on the bottom for footer widgets.
6. the title page on top gives it the nice effect
7. the links that we provide for each word is highlighted and matches the color of the whole template
8. it has pages, unlike other template that uses older posts

The previous template I used was the google plus blogger template was a great template but maybe I felt out of love of that old template, it also loads fast but the econto template is much faster. I love it! Im head over heels in love with it, but well same happened to all the templates that I have tried, I thought i was in love but then I grew tired and weary of the old templates thats why I changed every now and then. It looks good and feels better this time. Hope it would be for good, for keeps.

Let's make Google fall in love

Recently, google updated their system and it affected my pr ranking, went down to 1 from 2 anyways, no big deal to me. I have noticed changes, I used to have a shoutbox but now even if I encoded the html the widget does not appear on my site, I presume thats one of the changes, the shout mix is a way of exchanging links and maybe have been over used by bloggers and maybe a warning that we should take seriously for google is also serious, if you want to get banned then, the risk is yours.I have here the list to court google, we want google to fall in love with our site:

* avoid flash - they hate flash, most of the users now use ipad or iphone nad it wont show.
* blog often - google gets goosebumps with new posts and its heart beats faster it gets excited makes google happy with the new information. Its not just about blogging per se but we should try to have quality content, it makes google fall in love all the more.I consider myself a trying hard blogger but knowing all these could help us see a bigger picture and do our best in the blogging world. The competition is so immense and if we wan to join the race then, our best efforts should be given.

Im back to google plus template

I kept on changing templates, i dont know. I wanted to try new look, and try to experiment on blog templates, I wanted something new. But I guess im in love head over heels with the google plus blogger template. That's why 'here I am again using it. Nothing compares to this most loved template of mine.
I have reasons why I kept on going back to google plus blogger template:

1. It looks clean and professional - no extra things around, with class with sophistication.
2. It loads fast - I have tried several templates, they look good but the problem is that it loads a little bit slower, readers would have problem in waiting for my page to load.
3. I have no problem with page elements- its easy to add widgets and stuff for my page.
....the problem is that Im having difficult time changing the logo, im still on the process of studying it...im not a techy person and it would take time for me to figure out, \i hope I would be able to do it.

We' ve been friends for a long time ago. We come from the same alma mother. Actually, our paths crossed one time on another. But it's only now that I gave him a second look. I realized that beauty is in the eyes. The pulpbits of my heart went fast, really fast. Cute pala siya. And then, he came over with me. He said, "I hope you don't mine. Can I get your number?" Nag-worry ako. What if he doesn't give it back? He explained naman na it's so we could keep intact daw. Sabi ko, "Connect me if I'm wrong, but are you asking me ouch?" "The!?!!??". .. ang sarcastic na sagot nya. Aba! The verb! Parang siya pa ang galit! Persona ingrata!!! Ang kapal niya! I cried buckles of tears. Na-guilty yata siya. Sabi niya, isipin mo na lang na this is a blessing in the sky. Irregardless daw of his feelings, we should go ouch na rin. Now, we're so in love. Mute and epidemic na ang past.

Thanks God we swallowed our fried. Kasi, I'm 33 na and I'm running our time. After 2 weeks, he plopped the question. "Will you marriage me?" I'm in a state of shocked. Kasi mantakin mo, when it rains, it's four! This is true good to be true. So siyempre, I said yes. Love is a many splendor. Pero nung inaayos ko na ang aming kasal, everything swell to pieces. Nag-di-dinner kami noon nang biglang sa harap ng aming table, may babaeng humirit ng, "Well, well, well. Look do we have here." What the fuss! The nerd ng babaeng yon! She said they were still on. So I told her, whatever is that, cut me some slacks! I didn't want this to get our hand kaya I had to sip it in the bud. She accused me of steeling her boyfriend. As is!!! I don't want to portrait the role of the other woman.

Gosh, tell me to the marines! I told her, "Please, mine you own business!" Who would believe her anyway? Dahil it's not my problem anymore but her problem anymore, tumigil na rin siya ng panggugulo. Everything is coming up daisies. I'm so happy. Even my boyfriend said liketwice. He's so supportive. Sabi niya, "Look at is this way. She's our of our lives." Kaya advise ko sa inyo - take the risk. You can never can tell. Just burn the bridge when you get there. Life is shorts. If you make a mistake, we'll just pray for the internal and external repose of your soul. I second emotion...

Guyabano, the miracle fruit

I love guyabano, its best when you shake it, I also enjoy fun of eating it with bare hands, kinda messy but the challenge makes it more yummy. I have learned just now that it can help cancer patients. A housemate ym me and told me about the miraculous fruit. I went straight to the internet and researched about the news and yes, I found lots of information about this seemingly ordinary fruit. That breast cancer patients were healed and there were researches conducted to validate the claims. True enough It was not published due to selfishness of those scientists who conducted the tests, they wanted to gain by replicating the properties but they failed.

I have a cyst on my left breast, about .5cm. Then, last year, the physician found another cyst on my other breast, she said its 5cm. I was really worried and I kept it to myself. I told my aunt about it and she said I could use guyabano leaves. She got leaves for me and she told me to boil it and drink it. I got the leaves and forgot about it, only remembered when I saw it inside my bag already wilted. Now, Im excited and im craving for guyabanos.Have to go home early and go to the market.

Yes, its true.
A smart plan P349 per month for two years.
Not bad. For me its a great deal.
Almost of the technical group got this new babe. Its really sleek, so techy and savvy and I so wanted to have this for myself but, when I asked if I could upgrade my reloader's number for the plan, they said it was not possible for technical reasons and all. I had an information that it was possible with globe, you van upgrade or use your prepaid number for the plan. Hmmmm I changed my mind, I would want to keep my old smart number. I ts my first number and I dont feel like changing numbers again and inform them all that this is my new number. Its something I have to think over and over and over again. I had second thoughts and have to contemplate and give myself the time to think about it.

My dream

I woke up at around 3:30 in the morning, it was coco's (our cute adorable dog) bark that woke me from my sleep, he was so noisy, his bark was so loud that I find it hard to sleep again. Then, I had this dream.....The dream was somewhere in our hometown in Liloan cebu, it was a huge place, t was then I went inside a room filled with children, many of them were my cousin's children and our neighbors in Liloan, they were tired and all sleeping and seemed tired of waiting for me. I saw my aunt Balen, aunt Gabina and aunt Lina and Lita, they were the ones who brought the children, they said they waited coz they know I was busy. Then in my dream I asked them if they already ate dinner but said they have not eaten yet. I went out to buy some food for them and served it to all of them. Then another scene came there were small tables for the children with huge crayons, and many pictures to be colored for the children, These were huge paper or somewhat coloring book that were all stories from the bible. In my dream it was already late in the evening but I saw more children, like in a conference they were so excited to color and they started qouting verses from the bible while coloring.

I woke up late, it was past 5am and I hurriedly went down to cook breakfast. It was a nice dream, there was peace and joy and children, and I wonder why my aunts were there in my dream. What could be the meaning of my dream....Im guilty of not yet sharing the gospel to them for they are devout catholics and might get angry with me. Now I have decided in my heart to really share to them the gospel when I get home to Cebu.

I know the Lord will reveal in the days to come.

Someone from a far away kingdom expressed his generosity and kindess that he sent these mouth watering and heart warming chocolate presents last three weeks ago. I did not touch it. It was too precious to eat. I felt satisfied just holding it indulged myself self in appreciating the intricate details, the color of the wrapper, the magnificence of the container. But, wait a minute, chocolates were sent to be eaten, not for aesthetic purposes only. So now.... Im choco loading, the milky chocolatey feeling that melts in you mouth not in our hands and the nutty rocky but exciting ferrero has been my all time favorite...i love it, super love it....its far more satisfying than the later. Im so in love, im so pleased and very grateful, many thanks to that knight in shinning armor from that far away kingdom.

DIY? What;s this? I came across this word on a blog and I searched and now I know. It means Do It Yourself. I feel so stupid, but honestly I didnt know. SO i have considered this word my word for the day. I searched more then I saw sites that made me excited, like do it yourself cards, halloween decorations, cute crafts with crayons and the list goes on and on and I wanted to do them all LOL. Its the shiny syndrome, it hit me, I wanted to do a lot with so little time.

Its my word for the day. I heard about this on the television and I just wonder what the word means and what the relevance of the word. I clicked google and searched for the word and checked Wikipedia to answer my questions and satisfy my curiosity. Mesothelioma, is a rare type of cancer that develops from the protective lining that covers many internal organs the mesothelium, It is usually caused by exposure to asbestos. Now, I saw the point why our company was so concerned about a so called asbestos leak and also rumors spread about the wood tiles used in the inner walls and linings of our office. we got so worried and so concerned about our health and speculations and even tension came. To answer our many questions our admin then requested for testing and checking if the rumors that spread our was true about asbestos, Im also concerned, there were black colored liquid that fell from the very top of our builing and trckled down untik the ground floor staining even our walls and damaging the paints.

The company requested experts from and submitted the samples to Manila for testing and it was found out that it was negative. Hmmmm, but still i had doubts about the truth but I guess they were telling us the truth of the matter and I could now stop from thinking that the reason of two deaths among officemates was the asbestos leak and all, I cant blame myself for the association and I just hope all will be well.

It was raining hard last saturday, and ororama superstore in cogon became my refuge. I went inside the grocery to buy some stuff for the week long budgeting ( i was the in charge for meals for one week in charge for the menu making, marketing and all ). There were people inside the grocery with a lot of free stuff to enjoy, there were samples of soup, and noodles and a lot of yummy stuff, I tasted everything (hehehehe, the soup kept me warm and it was yummy, the juice was refreshing, the biscuit was great). Then there I met Ms. Anna Bel from Cabadbaran, who introduced me to her seaweeds strips, I thought it was coconut strips but I was amazed when she told me it was seaweed since it tasted great and fantastic. Im fond of salads and bought one pack of strips and the cubes. It was great and tasted fantastic and also very easy to prepare, no sweat and no cooking needed, just mixing and done.

Seaweeds grows on rocks, in rock in pools in the lower intertidal and shallow sub-tidal zones. This is famously known in the Philippines as "GUSO" in the market. Guso as seaweed vegetable was often boiled from which a nutritious jelly is made. Its my way of chasing the blues away. Food, food, food and food. Just food. My therapy, in the office its the best therapy we have. We comfort each other through food. I love to eat ice cream when im sad or when a subscriber scold me. Of course I cant fight back, I just sit there smile ( fake smile) and nod and nod and nod. There was a case that I ran to the comfort room to cry after an irate subscriber threatened me and shouted at me. Hmmmm too onion skinned. I just like that.

Loved the ice cream. They said it was peach and bananas ice cream but minus the banana, they ran out of bananas, it was great though, I guess it was best without the bananas, with the peaches alone the ice cream was perfect.

Nothing can clutter our spirit like worry. It cluttered my mind last sunday when flood came and washed our things away and created a clutter that I have never seen in my life and worry swept over me and I got helpless and never knew where to start the cleaning with all the water and mud and wet clothes all over. In my mind I started singing "Where do I begin" and I prayed hard to God, calmed myself and focused my mind on things that needs to be done, got the broom and started sweeping the water. The water on the basement was knee length, I helped in hauling the water, we've been doing it for the past minutes but it seemed the water did not subside, the minutes went on and on and the same the water level is the same despite the effort, we decided to stop it and did manageable things instead.

I calmed myself, prayed to God.Praying to God is like talking to a trusted friend. Open up and share our deepest self with him. God simply longs to hear from us. We can pray anywhere, anytime about anything. Whether we ask hi, to help us with a problem, thank him for good things, or pour out our hurts to him , prayer is a way of communicating with the one who cares intimately for us.

This is where the simple lived; in a place where we can share everything with God, where he fills us with his restful peace, and where he can become godly woman, free from worry, that he created us to be.

I like doing bookmarks on excel; it may sound awkward but I can manage it with ease

I printed it using card boards and with other colored papers as well

Then, cut them individually

Since I dont have a laminating machine, I used transparency sheets

I used these clips to hold each bookmark with the transparency sheets

The star of the bookmark; 1 inch concrete nails

Then, I used stapler to permanently hold the sheets and the bookmark and sew ribbon to hold the nail

then, I used glue to secure the nail

Papers- here, there and everywhere!
I uncluttered my packed things and was surprised with the papers I kept for years, some were way back college days and things that I kept bringing with me where ever I go. I decided in my heart to let go of all those papers, and around my room. I have gathered a sack of them and was contented with the feeling of lightness, like im floating, wow, I love it. It seemed that I have accomplished something great, I have cleaned the clutter and burned the things I ought to burn years ago.Its a powerful step toward simplicity. I have replaced piles with order; I now where to find things when I need them, I was looking for my civil service certificate and took a longer time to find it coz I have to check every pack and check it one by one. AT least now I feel a sense of calm and control, it makes life simple.
I have to go through the whole process if I have the luxury of time to check each paper singly. Do I need to throw it away, file it away, I know I have to be patient, give it a lot of time. If I will persevere the spot on top of my cabinet will be clean, wonderfully clean.

This is what the Lord says: Put your house in order.

Simplify.....

In a daily basis check papers around and see how to deal it, dont allow it to grow more and more each day coz there will come a time that its harder for us to manage the paper clutter.

use wire baskets to gather papers so that you can find what you need, when you need it, and experience less stress.

Segregate important papers with the use of folder or clear book for convenience, thats what i did to simplify and organize my papers.

I got joy down in my heart , deep deep down in my heart. J - o - Y down in my heart deep deep down in my heart. Joy is a gift from God that we receive as we trust him, regardless of our circumstances. Unlike happiness, which comes and goes, joy is a deep, lasting confidence in God's faithfulness. I saw on youtube this joyful man Nick Vucijic, man born without limbs, but his smiles reveal the kind of joy in serving God and being used by God despite his condition. His life is a testimony of God's goodness, a life that alone trusts in God. Im blessed with his life and his positive outlook, its a miracle. Nick's difficult circumstance becomes the gateway through which God gives him a glad heart.

We too, can consciously choose to receive joy, whatever we face, from life's irritations to overwhelming crises, let's immerse ourselves in thoughts of God's love for us.Let us remember that while events change and shift he never does, he is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. We are secure in the Lord no matter what happens. Allow worries, problems and tensions to lessen their grip in our hearts. "You will fill me with joy of your presence"( Pslam 16:11).

Read the book of Philippians. The writer Paul, experienced many hard times and much joy.

Sing or listen to praise songs, especially ones that help us focus on God's faithfulness.

Freedom has limitations.The art people talk about it as a freedom of expression and a sense of art. I checked the picture @ google and it was never an expression art, but blasphemy! Pure blasphemy! Its no wonder why he got death threats, he could have thought of other creative items and made use of other material for his artwork. Its very offensive to the majority. I got angry with what I have seen and to think it was placed in a government art gallery and was displayed for public veiwing @ the CCP. Art is a way of inspiring and revealing the talent and the extraordinary in every artist but I hope not like this art that could hurt others.

Exercise! Its god's amazing design to release stress that's fun, free and available the moment we are. Its free, all we need is time to do it and the will to make it as part of our daily regimen. Exercise revs up our body's capacity to let go of tension, clears our mind, strengthens our body and gives us more energy. As we do this, we'll feel better in body and in spirit as the benefits of exercise help us experience a simpler life. Our bodies feel lighter if we make exercise a lifestyle.

A few months before the clock hit 5pm, I can feel back pains, head ache and even body pains. it was all stress related, sitting all day as a teller, I even forget to take 15 minute break and only the get the chance to stand up for nature's call. It was not a healthy lifestyle, it was all work work work, stress stress. Loads of work and I go home late in the evening and most often I sleep without taking my dinner cause I always think Im deprived of sleep and I crave for lots of sleep.It was a vicous cycle, it went on an on and, reached to a point that I got addicted to back massage coz it was the soothing way to chase the back pains away. Then, I realized I was only curing the cause of stress, bottom line, problem not solved. One day our officemate asked if I'd join the aero dance every tuesdays and thursdays, I said yes and joined the first session that afternoon. At first I felt awkward coz im not the dancer type and the steps were somewhat complicated, then as wee progressed I love the sweaty feeling and the sweat dripping from my face was a therapy. Day two was full of excitement and the nest sessions were filled with fun and also served as bonding time with officemates and friends.

As the weeks and months passed dancing regularly felt better, I feel light and energized and the back pains were gone.I had more energy and I felt calmer. My schedule hadnt changed , but my attitude had- and it made a difference.

Ready to de-stress?
Talk a walk, dance. And as we step out marvel at God's intricate design; feet that support us, the knees to bend just right, bones that give us structure and muscles that strengthen us.As we walk and dance our heart quickens to match the tempo of our steps and our lungs inflate fully to bring to our body the oxygen it needs. As we do this lets turn our thoughts to the Lord. Thanking him for knitting together our body and mind so that as we move physically, we move mentally too. tension slips away. We feel lighter and more energized.

Simplify.....

Little choices add to big benefits. Take the stairs, park farther from the store or walk the dog.

Exercise with a friend to enjoy good physical and mental heath plus great conversation.

Start walking slowly, then gradually build up your endurance until you notice increased energy and decreased stress.

Forgive yourself for times you've started to exercise but did not follow through.

Have you ever slipped into an attitude of discontentment?
I am guilty of such an attitude. I have become dissatisfied by dwelling on what I dont have rather than being grateful for what I dont have. Its common in the office, I hear my office mates complain about compensation, grumble about work, griping about issues about management, I nod and cant help but agree, it then awakens my rebellious side. Not so good, tsk tsk tsk DISCONTENT. This book talks on how discontent can grow strong, stubborn and hard to weed out. Simplicity, on the other hand, consistently and consciously can nourish contentment. When we are content, we are aware of God's many blessings and feel satisfied. God's abundance fill us up. We experience inner peace - and the simple life - as we rest in the assurance that God provides for every need. In my case its how I appreciate the current job I have while others dont have a job for a living im blessed to be here in this company working and serving others, its a way of sharing my life to others and giving them the best service they deserve.
To grow in contentment is to grow in gratitude. We notice the Lord's blessing and thank him daily. Count the people: the parent who taught us to dream, the friend who makes us laugh, the office mates who brigtens up the day and makes you laugh when your stressed out. Count the familiar: the sky above, the ground beneath, the rain that cools, the smiling mr. sun. Count the unfathomable: freedom and faith and God's unfailing love that goes on and on, just like the blessings we receive immeasurably.
as we do this, we will nurture contentment like a well watered flower. A calm, restful sense of simpliciit moves aside the dissatisfaction that once stirred up our complaints.

Simplify.....

Choose one area where you feel dissatisfied and ask God to help you move toward contentment.

Think of five things you love about your life and thank the Lord for them.

Create a gratitude journal by counting your blessings on paper. Write it everyday.

I look back on my life like a good day's work - it was done and I am satisfied with it. I was happy and contented; I knew nothing better and made best of what life offered.

Ampalaya with egg ala Zelmarq

I am in charge of cooking every tuesdays and thursdays, and I would like to share those food that I cook on those days. I took picture of my version of ampalaya with egg, I was not brave enough to picture the almost black longanisa and hotdogs, the result of multi tasking ( frying and slicing) tsk tsk tsk.

What we Need:

2 pieces medium size amplaya or bitter gurd
6 pieces eggs
garlic
onion
oil
salt
shrimp paste

Procedure:
1. Slice ampalaya thinly and soak on water with salt.
2. Saute garlic and onion, add the sliced ampalaya, then add the shrimp paste.
3. Add the beated eggs and simmer for a few minutes.

We have many responsibilities- so many in fact, we sometimes wonder how will we able to accomplish everything. Life feels like a whirlpool of activities as we press more tasks into fewer hours. Sometimes I wish there were more than 24 a hours a day so that I have more time to do more things, yet no matter how we try to do things as efficient and and fast as we can it seems that time also passed by so swiftly we never noticed it. The key is to pray, seeking God's wisdom about how to best use our time, then lets begin to do changes and as we do this we will experience a more leisurely schedule and calmer spirit, as well as discover the simplicity we desire.

I wake up early in the morning, have my quiet time, its the best secret that my bible study leader to start the day, read God's word for today to sustain us and to prepare us what ever comes along. I dont rush and I take time to hear what God wants to tell. I take time to exercise, just a few bending and stretches to awaken the physical body and take an early bath. Eat breakfast and go for work early. With this lifestyle I have I realized that I am not doing things in a hurry and always have time pause in the office and prepare things before I start my tellering activities. I used to bring work at home but stopped doing it coz I got lesser time to rest and relax at home.God cares about even the smallest detail of our day, so let us trust Him to help us. I am assured that God desires rest for me, taking the heart of the words of Psalm 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God."
As we pray to the Lord and have faith in His guidance, our lives become less hurried. We will slow down and discover a calm, restful spirit as we live a simple life.

Simplify......

Pray each morning for God's wisdom on how you can best use your time that day.

Set aside several evenings per week that you commit to being at home.
Enjoy peace and rest.

Reduce by half the amount of time you watch tv. Take pleasure in conversation, reading, or a quiet hobby instead.

I need to slow down. And I'm asking the Lord to help me do it. I want to move slowly enough to be aware of all the joys He has hidden for me. I want to slow down enough to grow as He wants me to grow. I want to be quiet enough to hear Hid voice. I need His wisdom to know how to spend my time and how to order my days.

Im reading the book Simple Living For Women its a nice book and I would like to share what I have read from that book on this blog.

Day 1 : See God in the Ordinary

There are small wonders of nature everywhere. Yet these miracles are so easy to miss, especially as the pace of life speeds along.Days and weeks whirl by, and time for noticing nature's beauty slips away. We will can see the blessing of these beauty if we just pause for a while and pay attention to the handiwork of the Creator. As we pause and enjoy God's creation, we awaken the presence of God Himself. We experience his finger print in every intricate detail, His closeness in every moment.

I tried that when I went out for work one morning, and alas I felt the fresh of air that greeted me and embraced my with the scent of a sampaguita flower nearby, I noticed how a yellow butterfly who gracefully found its way to some wild roses which grow on the sidewalk. Wow, what an amazing sight. It was indeed a blessing to pause for a while and enjoy each moment. The creation made for you and me. I never noticed that a few mornings before coz I always go out in a hurry. Its seeing God in the ordinary things in life. It gives an enthusiasm that will sustain us throughout the day.
Simplify....
Study the intricate details of a single flower. Thank God for the ways his amazing handiwork reminds us of a simple life.
On a clear night stand outside and marvel at the starry evening; ponder God's love for us.

Its July 29, 2011, due for ngn and legacy lines which means this is going to be a very busy day with lots of people and as expected the business office will overflow with paying subscribers. But, the sad thing is that the payment system is down. Its always been like this for the whole week, the system is off and on every day, its frustrating that we have to manually encode the payments and encode it the day after. Wew! Im helpless, cant do anything about this. How can this be? A telecommunications company as big as this one is also as slow as this one. Tsk tsk tsk, life is like this, we may not like everything but we have to embrace wholeheartedly even if most of the time we lose our patience and get tired of a system that is totally out of our control. Its a test of patience and endurance, and a test that we will manage to smile despite the odds the subscribers are there vigilant and sensitive, more often than not I feel like a clown, you have to smile, pretend its always ok, take care of them with grace because they deserve the best and the way we serve them should not affect minor setbacks that may come along the way. I wish the system will be ok tomorrow. Tomorrow is another day!

Its a beautiful day! Yesterday my heart was anxious and worried but God has given me this joy in my heart and peace of mind. God has a way of making miracles in our lives when things seemed vague and dark but somewhere behind the darkness comes the light that will reveal God's loving promises. He is always faithful, He loves us so much and will give us the desires of our heart as long as we seek Him first in our lives.

I talked with Ate babes ( she is my spiritual leader) yesterday, I prayed hard before the talk since I expected other things from her, I expected to be reprimanded and imagined things beyond understanding. But praise God she spoke of encouragement and spoke of her frustrations and share her dreams for the training apartment and for the ministry. I know hoe she and her husband worked hard for the ministry and how they have given their lives for the ministry and for the training house but felt dismayed with the attitudes of the people in the training house. Im one of those living in the training house and felt shame that I was not doing the things that is expected of me and me co housemates. I felt relieved and jumped for joy after we talked and I shared it with my house mates. Though what we talked about was not at all positive things but as a whole it brought joy and peace to my heart. I am filled with hope and I have felt the goodness of God.
Thank you Lord, thank you for everything!

Its my life

Im not feeling well today. Its not that I am sick or physically ill, but maybe im just not well emotionally. Somethings wrong and I can tell. People expect from us and when we fail its as if its a criminal offense of not being able to meet their standards and what they expect of me. Well, life's like that. Simple things made complicated because of convictions and beliefs of other people that they want to impose on us coz thats what they feel is right and ideal and proper. Maybe, they're right and Im wrong. Or maybe we have a generation gap and things dont work around they they think it worked 30 years ago. Bottom line in the end its all about me and what I decide to do about it, its up to me coz its my life what ever the consequences of my actions I know I am fully accountable and I am responsible, this is my life anyway.

I have been happy since the day we learned my younger sister was pregnant. I was hoping for a baby girl but then it didnt matter.My heart sang for joy when I saw the helpless baby sleeping soundly not minding our whispers and our laughs.How cute is our angel. It was a great feeling. I wish I could have a baby of my own but that will have to go through a very long process, a very complicated process. But i wish I could have twins, a boy and a girl, hope theyll not going to be the cry babies that would get the worst of me, but thats under my prayer list yet, to be listed on my action list after my wedding.

A new Look

I have changed my template again. Again! Yes, again, and this is for the nth time. It was kinda boring and I never had that much motivation to blog anymore so I guess a little tweak could inspire to blog. well, my next posts could prove how blog stimulating this new template could be. But, so far, I guess a new look could inspire me to blog more and more. I was a bit busy the previous days and had no enough motivation to post new ideas and new things, nothing came to mind, there were lots of things that came along that I just let it slip through my fingers and never talked about it here. Somehow, I have chosen to be silent and kept just a memory in my heart and mind and soon forget them to oblivion. Im just a trying hard blogger, a second rate trying hard copycat but I enjoy doing this, im not also a writer, im just a second rate trying hard feeling writer, wahehehehehe, I wish I am, I envy those who have the skill but I can just stare and watch in silence.

That's what the Lord promised me this morning during my quiet time. Just the right motivation God gave me to continue and press on with all my endeavors. There were may times I felt hopeless with some situations in life     (work related stresses, problems at home interpersonal problems, financial problems and etc.) but today God gave me the perfect reason on not giving up praying for everything. Im so happy,very happy.
He also said in His word in Numbers 23:19
God is not human, that he should lie,
   not a human being, that he should change his mind.
Does he speak and then not act?
   Does he promise and not fulfill?

My Leche Flan Flop

I wish my leche flan looked like this one.....

I bought a can of condensed milk and saw a leche flan recipe. It sounded so simple I decided to buy 8 eggs, a can of condensed milk, 1/4 kilo white sugar, and 3 pcs of small llaneras to complete the whole puzzle of making the master piece.
I felt excitement, I was so thrilled I hurried home to make THE LECHEN FLAN.

I started making the caramel without water and the white sugar and left it on the pan, and did my egg yolk separation and mixing the condensed milk. After I mixed the egg yolk and the milk thoroughly I went to get the caramel and to my surprise I saw a stone like thing with the laddle immovable...tsk tsk tsk now what? I reheated the hardened caramel and placed it in the llaneras and poured the eggyolk mixture covered it with foil and the steamed for 30 minutes. It was a tense waiting moment, I kept testing it using the toothpick to see if it was done. I tried eating one llanera and it was soso though it may not look like the one sold in restuarants but to me it tasted like one, hehehehehe. And in the morning, I had difficulty removing the leche flan from the llaneras coz I realized I used very sticky caramel for that, I have to remove it from the top part of the flan coz it was really hard. The taste was soso also and \i have decided in my heart that I would make a better leche flan, I have another leche flan recipe and I just hope it would be good enough.
